Born on the 11th of April 1992 in Guadalajara, Spain. Javier received his Bachelor degree in Chemical Sciences at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2014. The same year, he moved with an Erasmus scholarship to Leicester, UK; to work in the Biotechnology Group of Prof. Dr S. Piletsky at the University of Leicester. In 2017 he received his Master's degree in the same group under the supervision of Dr E. Piletska, continuing his work in the development of molecularly imprinted polymers with catalytic activity. Since June 2017, he is working in the group of Prof. Dr K. Peneva as PhD at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena in the field of synthesis of new fluorescent dyes for selective labelling of proteins, cellular compartments and biomaterials.
Javier enjoys hiking, cooking, hanging out with friends or just chilling with a nice cup of freshly grounded coffee.
